Temple Beth El is the oldest synagogue building in continuous use in Michigan founded in 1885. The congregation and synagogue have been in active use since it’s founding. In 2013 an addition was added with a lift to make the building accessible to all. In 2015 the congregation merged with Congregation Ahavat Shalom to become Beth Shalom. The building remains Beth El.
