Laboratory of Catalysis and Process Engineering (LCPE) is located at Room No. 212 in the New Annex Building of the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Kharagpur. Our lab is dedicated to cutting-edge research at the intersection of catalysis, reaction engineering, and sustainable energy.

Our ongoing research spans over a range of topics, including:

• Design of low-cost bimetallic and alloy catalysts for efficient CO₂ and alkane conversion

• Microkinetic modelling, reactor design and Techno-economic assessment on heterogeneous catalytic processes, biohyodrogen generation

• Photocatalytic reduction of CO₂ into fuels and high-value chemicals

• Application of machine learning for catalyst discovery and process intensification

At LCPE, we aim to tackle global energy and environmental challenges through a multidisciplinary approach combining experimental innovation, First-Principle based computation (DFT), modeling, and data-driven techniques.
