Welcome Future Dental Students!

Thank you for your interest in the Dental Assisting Program at Lassen Community College! We are excited about the growing interest in our program and the future of dental education in our community.

At this time, we are still actively working with the Dental Board of California to obtain full program approval. As we remain at the mercy of the Board’s review and approval process, we unfortunately will not be able to launch the program in time for the Fall 2025 semester. Our new target start date is Spring 2026, and we remain committed to offering a strong, Board-approved program at that time.

In the meantime, we encourage you to use this waiting period as a valuable opportunity to begin preparing for your future dental career! Consider reaching out to local dental offices to ask about job shadowing opportunities. Be sure to dress in business casual or professional scrubs to make a great impression. We also recommend using this time to start familiarizing yourself with basic dental terminology and the tooth numbering system—skills that will give you a head start once classes begin.
