Welcome Future Dental Students!

Thank you for your interest in the Dental Assisting Program at Lassen Community College! We are excited about the growing interest in our program and the future of dental education in our community.

At this time, we are still actively working with the Dental Board of California to obtain full program approval. As we are at the mercy of the Board’s review and approval process, we remain committed to offering a strong, Board-approved program.

In the meantime, we encourage you to use this waiting period as a valuable opportunity to begin preparing for your future dental career! Consider reaching out to Alison Somerville in the Work Experience department and asking about WE 159 for dental job shadowing opportunities. This course provides an excellent opportunity to experience how several local dental offices operate day-to-day and to determine whether the dental field is right for you before committing to a program. This course also provides an introduction to HIPAA, basic dental terminology, and the tooth numbering system—skills that will give you a head start once classes begin.
