Using the law to secure a better future

Climate change will cause global catastrophe unless we cut emissions now, and swiftly through a Just Transition.

Legislation and litigation on climate action are critical to ensuring Scotland responds appropriately to the climate emergency, through a swift Just Transition to a net zero carbon society before 2045. As legal professionals we must work to ensure that the rule of the law promotes a habitable planet, through respecting, upholding, and progressing environmental laws within Scotland and beyond.

Lawyers for Climate Action is working to make, train, and mobilise Scotland's community of legal professionals to play an active role in securing a Just Transition and acting on the climate emergency and interrelated environmental crises. Any legal professional or law student is welcome to become a member and expand this community. Join us today.
