We are a mini farm located in Bogalusa, LA, focusing on raising meat rabbits, chickens, and honeybees!
My grandpa raised honeybees for as long as I could remember as a child. And when his health began to fail, he got my father to start assisting him with the hives. Eventually, I became interested in the bees and once my dad moved away, I took over the job of caring for them full time. Well, grandpa is long gone on to Gloryland, and I am still here raising Honeybees.
We produce a decent amount of honey, both strained and honeycomb, each year. I am also expanding our product line to include beeswax products such as lotion bars and candles.
All products can be shipped within the US via my Etsy shop!
New Zealand/Californian rabbits, are our main business at the mini farm. These rabbits are known for high growth rates, fine bones, and great mothering skills. Many of our does will have 10-12 babies each time, and we even had one mom raise 13!
We sell rabbits to individuals for pets, breeders and meat as well as sell in bulk to a rabbit processor.
Rabbit prices start at $20 each for 7-8 week old bunnies.
After several years of trying different breeding programs and adding new lines to our chicken stock, we have decided to scale our chicken operations down significantly. We love the laying ability of our Silver Laced Wyandottes and will continue to raise them each year in small quantities.
Silkies are a bantam breed of chickens that are best known for being the mother hens of the chicken world. They have all black skin and feet with fluffy, hair-like feathers all over their bodies, which includes the cutest afros, beards and feathered legs. They also have and extra toe on each foot, making them one of the most unique breeds there is.
Our silkie flock was started in 2021 with 12 original birds of pure color. Since then, it has remained a closed flock, with new additions each year from the offspring. This has resulted in some interesting color patterns that you won't find on any hatchery website, or probably with any other breeders.
Silkies are an excellent option for people who are raising chickens in city-limits, with low amounts of space, or even for children, as their small size makes them quieter and safer to keep than full-sized birds. Even the roos tend to get along much better than most full-sized birds, with minimal fighting.
These will remain on our farm due to all of the reasons above, and because I absolutely LOVE them. We have good availability on these also, so place an order today and we will get you silkies of your own.
