Layla has previously worked as a tutor through LMU's Athletic Academic Department. She began in January of 2021, and has since tutored over 15 students on a 1:1 basis in the following classes:
StatisticsÂ
Psychology- and Sociology-based courses; this is the primary subject she tutors in. These classes have an application emphasis to their respective disciplines. In these courses, she has covered hypothesis testing in psychological experiments using z-testing, t-testing (single-sample, independent samples, paired/dependent samples), ANOVAs (one-way and two-way), correlation & regression, effect sizing, Chi squared, and SPSS software.

Research Methods
(From LMU Bulletin)--"Introduces the basic principles of common psychology research methods and designs. Provides students with fundamental background for planning, conducting, and critiquing research in psychology. Emphasizes scientific writing, including APA style, and data interpretation using descriptive and inferential statistics. Topics include: hypothesis testing, searching scientific literature, variables and measurement, reliability and validity, and ethics in the conduct of empirical research."
