Scenic Design

Layla's work with scenic design for the stage began in the Fall of 2020 as she began taking and subsequently teaching courses through LMU to learn more about the subject.

These classes included:

• Scenic Design I

• Scenic Design II: Computer Design

• LMU Pre-College Program: Design for Stage and Screen (TA)

Layla additionally was the lead designer for LMU's Faculty Mainstage productions in the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 Season.

• Everybody by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (dir. Dr. Daphnie Sicre), November, 2021.

• Exit the King by Eugene Ionesco (dir. Neno Pervan), Spring 2023.

Additionally, she worked as an assistant set designer to Professor Christopher Murillo on LMU's production of Barbecue by Robert O'Hara (directed by Keiana Richard), February 2022.

Layla has also designed the visuals in the production End of Wisdom by Niall Sulcer (dir. Niall Sulcer), Februrary 2022.
