We traveled to Clinton, AR--1.5 hour drive from Little Rock--and carpooled to the isolated preserve called Bluffton Preserve. This preserve is stewarded by the Nature Conservancy and was tucked nicely away from large crowds. On our drive up there, it rained on and off and we were hopeful that when we arrived it would clear up. By the time we arrived, the skies were a bit cloudy, but not rain! We enjoyed the clear water and partly shady clouds (making it warm enough to swim, but not too hot to be outside). The weather was perfect. We took turns blowing up our floaties, opened the cooler for snacks, set up our chairs, and sat by the shallow riverbanks. Nothing like good company, good scenery, and secluded getaways.
We talked about life and movies, and everything in between. Although, most folks were meeting for the first time, it was a time spent getting to know one another, being open, and swapping stories. We had the entire beach to ourselves until it was time to go. We stayed from 10am-4pm.
