Hi! I'm Lauryn Perrotti (rhymes with karate) I'm studying to become a speech language pathology assistant. Maricopa Community Colleges has helped me earn credits to transfer to ASU in the fall to attain a post-bachelorette degree in Speech/Hearing Sciences. My expected graduation is 2025.
About Me
I'm a native of Arizona, grew up in Glendale and attended ASU Downtown for my Bachelors of Arts in Special Education. I taught students with a variety of cognitive, hearing, speech and vision disabilities including students with autism and neurodivergent. During my 12 years of teaching I started teaching at a post-secondary life skills school. I was the teacher of independent living skills. I was able to work hands on with students in teaching them skills in the kitchen, creating shopping lists, budgeting money and looking for apartments for independent living. After this I spent time as resource teacher and then finishing my career as a self-contained life skills teacher. There I worked heavily with related services but I fell in love with what the Speech Language Pathologist worked with the students. The visual aides needed, the assistive technology used for students to communicate. That's when I decided to take the leap and go back to school.
