Hello and welcome to my portfolio website! I am Lauren Jolly and I am currently completing my Master of Science in Education at Johns Hopkins University. I am a first grade teacher in Memphis, TN. I began teaching first grade in 2018 when I joined Teach for America as a corps member. I am currently a founding first grade teacher at a charter school in North Memphis. Prior to teaching in the charter sector I was a piano teacher in Columbus, Ohio.
Throughout my portfolio, I showcase the work that is happening in my classroom, both past and present. Within this website, you will find opportunities I have presented to my students to engage in access, advocacy, family engagement and culturally responsive teaching in order to achieve dramatic student growth. I strive to be a transformational teacher who recognizes each student as an individual with unique experiences and backgrounds. My goal is to create life-long learners that are college and career ready. Thank you for visiting my website!
