As an educator, my goal is to provide an encouraging learning environment for my students which will leave them with a meaningful and positive perspective on physical education. I understand the value of the NYS Physical Education Conceptual Framework and both state and national standards in order to reach the students on a psychomotor, cognitive, and affective level. I hope to provide students ample opportunities to explore what might interest them both now and for the rest of their lives. Exposing them to a variety of activities will hopefully keep them open-minded to many different forms of physical activity, health, and fitness. As a physical educator, it is my responsibility is to engage and challenge my students, empower them and build their confidence, and inspire them to lead physically active, healthy lives.
As a coach, I believe athletics are a metaphor for life in so many ways. Some of my strongest relationships and personal attributes have been cemented through participation in sports. In addition to being an outlet for physical activity, sports strengthen qualities such as leadership, collaboration/teamwork, and resilience that are significant to individuals' lives beyond the athletic field. I hope to create a positive, motivational, and challenging environment for the athletes I coach, while helping them meet their potential and exceed their dreams.
