Using these word tiles to arrange and create sentences means that the child has to read the tiles first. This helps them to apply their phonics skills and use it to make interesting sentences.

When a child is struggling to learn or apply their sounds, the best thing to do is to play games and practise their sounds with them in a variety of different activities. I have used these cards with children before to help them to identify their sounds and to identify those sounds within words. This helps them to become more confident and to then apply it to reading books and instructions and so on.

'Utterly Me, Clarice Bean' was my favourite story book when I was a child.

I loved it because it was excited and every chapter was filled with emotion and excitement. I loved reading about the characters' lives and observing from afar.

By using inspiring texts, children learn and develop a range of relevant reading skills whilst having fun and escaping into a series of different magical and wonderful worlds.
