This Privacy Policy explains how the Europa RP Launcher (the "Launcher") handles data. It applies to the Launcher application only. Most of the data the Launcher uses stays on your own computer.
This Privacy Policy explains how the Europa RP Launcher (the "Launcher") handles data. It applies to the Launcher application only. We do not collect anything. IP addresses will be collected only as this is a standard part of how the internet works. In no way, shape, or form will we collect anything from your device.
1. Summary
The Launcher is a desktop application. Your settings and installed game files stay on your device. Some information is unavoidably shared over the internet when the Launcher downloads updates, files, or news, or when it starts the game and connects it to the server. We do not sell your data.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
The Launcher stores the following locally on your computer:
- Your settings and preferences (for example: chosen game folder, in-game nickname, graphics and launch options, and feature toggles);
- Installed game files, mods, and plugins;
- Local log files used to diagnose errors and crashes.
This data lives on your device. The Launcher does not upload your settings or log files to us as part of normal use.
3. Your Nickname
The Launcher saves the in-game nickname you enter so you don't have to retype it. When you start the game, your nickname is passed to the game client so it can connect you to the server. The Launcher itself does not create an online account for you.
4. Data Shared Over the Internet
When the Launcher connects to the internet, some technical information is shared as a normal part of how downloads and connections work:
- When downloading Launcher updates, game files, mods, or news, your IP address and standard request details are visible to the servers that provide those files (our hosting provider and/or public content hosts);
- The Launcher periodically queries the server to display its online status and player count.
This is standard for any application that downloads files or checks a server status.
5. Discord Rich Presence
If Discord is running on your computer, the Launcher may show your activity (for example, "Playing Europa RolePlay") using Discord's Rich Presence feature. This is provided by Discord and is governed by Discord's own privacy policy. You can turn it off by closing Discord or changing your Discord activity settings.
6. Third-Party Services
The Launcher interacts with these third parties, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Discord (Rich Presence, optional);
- Our hosting/update provider and any public content hosts used to deliver updates, files, and news.
We are not responsible for how these third parties handle data.
7. What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your personal information;
- The Launcher does not require you to create an account with us;
- We do not use the Launcher to collect your files or personal documents.
- We do not collect any personal data directly from your device, though essential technical data (such as your IP address, country, and file request details) is automatically processed by third-party services like Cloudflare and GitHub to deliver updates and ensure the Launcher functions properly.
8. Data Retention
Data stored locally (settings, game files, logs) stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the Launcher. The Launcher does not collect any data from your device. The only data that is collected by third-party services like Cloudflare and GitHub is your IP address, your country, and which file was installed or read in order for the Launcher to function.
9. Your Choices
- You can change your nickname and preferences at any time in the Launcher.
- You can remove or edit locally stored data by deleting or editing the relevant files or by uninstalling the Launcher.
- You can disable Discord Rich Presence as described in Section 5.
10. Children's Privacy
The Launcher is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age through the Launcher.
11. Security
We take reasonable measures to keep the Launcher safe to use. However, no software or internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your device secure.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be shown by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continuing to use the Launcher after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
