Neighborhood Map
Before we start building we need to sketch out where each building will go in our neighborhood.
The picture on the left is an example of what this will eventually look like.
In pencil draw the exact size and location of your building on the map.

- Scissors
- Ruler
- Cup of Glue
- Popsicle Stick/Toothpick (for spreading glue)
- Cardboard
- Grid Platform
- Design Book
Instructions:
- Measure the perimeter of your building and grab cardboard that is as close to your perimeter total as possible.
- Begin by drawing your perimeter on the grid paper platform in pencil.
- Begin cutting the cardboard to length and glueing it down to your platform around the perimeter.
⚠️WARNING ⚠️
Glueing can be difficult. Take your time and be patient!
You may have to hold the glued piece of cardboard on the paper for 15-30 seconds before being able to move to the next piece.
Remember that any mess you make, you will have to clean up.

The details of your building are something that we will work on at a later time when we have most of the neighborhood built.

Your neighborhood will slowly start to come together as you add buildings and details. By the end of this unit you will have a neighborhood that looks something like the final one below.
