By the end of this lesson you will be able to calculate Area and Perimeter for the blueprinting process of the project.
By the end of this lesson you will be ready to create your building.
Phase 4:
On the left there is an example of what your blueprint will look like.
Why does your neighborhood need this building? Is there a building that would that is more important?
Look at the zoning laws to decide the maximum perimeter and stories your building can have.
What is Perimeter?
By adding up each square around the outside of my school I can find its perimeter.
What is Area?
By counting individual squares, counting rows and columns or multiplying the amount of squares around my school, I am able to determine how many squares my building takes up. Finding the area is very similar to how we can solve an array.
In my example below, I split up my building into two sections to make it easier to solve. Can you think of a different way to solve this problem?
Now it's time to have two other architects from your group take a look at your blueprint.
In your Design Book you need to receive 2 compliments and 2 questions/concerns from each architect.
You may not start building until two architects from your group have given you feedback.
