Where is the Symposium being held?

The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Auckland, New Zealand.

When?

From Sunday 16 July, 2017 to Wednesday 19 July, 2017.

What time does it start?

Registration is from 3.00 pm. The program starts at 6.00 pm.

What is the theme of the Symposium?

The theme is “Lasallian women as change makers”.

What is the purpose of the Symposium?

The aims of the Symposium are:

1. To recognise the distinct role and identity of women in the mission, especially as catalysts of change.

2. To raise awareness that women are critical to enabling the achievement of mission goals and are essential to the future sustainability of the mission.

3. To empower Lasallian women to have a confident collective voice.

4. To develop ongoing relationships that support association between women, and provide opportunities for mutual growth and support.

5. To promote the Lasallian vocation as a desirable and accessible option for young

women and girls.

How much will it cost to attend?

Attendance at the conference will cost $1200.00 covering all meals, conference materials and activities for the four days. This also includes three nights accommodation valued at $660.000 for a private room. Should you wish to share a room (twin share), the accommodation cost will be $330.00, reducing the overall accommodation cost to $870.00. [i]

Travel will be your own responsibility.

What if I want to come but can’t afford to?

Financial assistance may be available. Fill in the relevant section of the registration form.

Who will be attending?

Women involved in Lasallian works from all over the world.

What will the weather be like in July?

Cool, with an average of 16 degrees Celsius. There may be rain, but not snow.

Will there be translators?

There are no translators. Those attending will be expected to speak English.

What would be expected of me?

We would expect you to come with a willingness to participate, share and engage with other Lasallian women.

Will men be attending?

A small number of Brothers will be attending ,with Brother Superior.

How do I get to the venue?

Shuttle buses and taxis are available from the Airport.

If you wish, you can request to be met at the Airport by a fellow Lasallian.

Will I need a visa?

As well as a passport current for six months from your arrival in New Zealand, you may need a visa. Check with your travel agent or look online at www.govt.nz

Can I arrive earlier or stay on?

Yes, however you will need to make your own arrangements.
