To ensure that being a part of ACP is the most positive and rewarding experience it can possibly be, we ask all our members to be supportive and generous to each other, as well as to themselves, and to treat everyone's unique talents, gifts, and effort with respect. If we all work together with an attitude of kindness, positivity, and professionalism, we can accomplish things you wouldn't imagine. ACP fosters this environment through the company agreements below.
Value each member of this company for who they are and strive to ensure that they know it. Welcome new members of the company and returning members. Neither engage in nor tolerate cruelty, hazing, bullying, or prejudice, whether “ironic” or otherwise.
Remember that you can not control how another company member reacts to or interprets your actions. Understand that you can not demand that anyone else feel safe. If someone expresses discomfort with your behavior toward them, respect those boundaries. Do not violate anyone’s physical boundaries, and recognize that on-stage consent does not imply offstage consent.
Treat this program, its facility, and its materials like the top-tier program you wish to see it become. Return costumes, props, and tools to their proper place when finished with them. Police my area by sweeping up sawdust, picking up screws, closing makeup containers, etc. Dispose of all the trash you create. Be responsible for you professional attire, whether cast costuming or crew blacks. If on cast, booth crew, or backstage crew, remain out of the house and lobby from open of house to end of show.
Fulfill whatever role you have accepted to the best of my ability. Be timely. Proactively inform the company about schedule conflicts. Learn lines and cues. Minimize distractions and noise backstage.
Recognize that everyone in this program is seeking to improve their mastery of their craft. When receiving feedback, focus on how it prepares you to improve your performance. Offer feedback that is constructive, geared toward addressing and preventing issues rather than shaming company members for past mistakes.
Take pride in the work that you do with ACP! Assist in promoting upcoming productions and encourage friends and classmates to come to shows, as well as join the company. Be a polite and respectful audience member when watching performances.
