Theme: One boat, many people. 

• The Ark of Noah (Refuge): Noah’s Ark is a vessel of salvation and protection during a flood, and represents a safe haven for vulnerable people in a chaotic world.

• Journey and Community: The boat symbolizes a shared life journey. It represents living together in close quarters, requiring mutual support, patience, and reconciliation among people of different backgrounds and abilities.

• Interdependence: The image highlights that, like passengers on a boat, members of L'Arche communities are dependent on one another, breaking down barriers between those who give support and those who receive it.

• Sign of Hope and Unity: The boat is considered a symbol of hope and unity, representing a "common table" where people of different cultures, religions, and capacities come together. In essence, the boat signifies that L'Arche is not just a service provider, but a community navigating life together, offering safety and belonging.

Our journey may take us outside of our comfort zone as we spend time in a community of diverse but equal members, each offering gifts and receiving gifts from each other.
