Itinerary

Please note that beginning and ending dates may vary slightly, depending on our group preference and L'Arche  activities. 

August 1, Saturday   -  Meet at St. Nick's parking lot in the a.m. (time tbd)  Gather and load our rental mini-vans.  Bring bag lunches/snacks and filled labeled re-usable water bottle; we will have coolers in the rental vans. Wear your team t-shirt. 

Drive Evanston to L'Arche Clinton 404 S 1st St, Clinton, IA (office but we will stay in a L'Arche house) 3 hrs. (152 miles)

Gas/bathroom/lunch and possibly another sightseeing stop along the way.   

August 2nd-7th, Sunday-Friday 

Daily Schedule: 

9am-12pm -Serve the L'Arche community with light service work in a L'Arche home (possibly cleaning, painting, gardening).

 12pm -Eat a bag lunch at our service site.

1pm-3pm- Time on our own. Option to walk in the state park or enjoy rest time.

3pm-5pm  -Share life with the L'Arche community playing games, and cooking dinner together. One afternoon we may go to Karaoke together and another afternoon we may go bowling together. On one of those days, we may eat dinner together at a community church. 

5pm-7pm Eat dinner with the L'Arche community.   

7pm Back to the house we are staying. Time for our group reflection together.  

Note : 

-We may spend one day joining hands with the L'arche community members to serve other justice and equality organizations in the Clinton area.  

- We may spend one day in the Dubuque Iowa area serving with the BVM sisters and having dinner together with former members of our own St. Nicholas SPRED community. It may be at the
