Over nearly 30 years at Imperial Business School I have been privileged to hold a range of leadership roles that have shaped both the Department of Finance and the careers of thousands of students.


Departmental Leadership

Co-Deputy Head of Department, Finance (2025 — present)

As Co-Deputy Head of the Department of Finance at Imperial Business School, I share responsibility for the strategic direction, academic standards and day-to-day leadership of one of the leading finance departments in Europe.


Programmes I Helped Launch

I have been privileged to help launch four Masters programmes at Imperial Business School over the course of my career:

Programmes I Currently Direct

Academic Director, MSc Finance (2012 — present)

I have served as Academic Director of the MSc Finance since 2012, one of Imperial Business School's flagship programmes. I helped launch the programme in 1998 and have been central to its development ever since.

In 2018 I had the privilege of marking the programme's 20th anniversary at an event held at the London Stock Exchange, attended by Bank of England Governor Mark Carney and over 160 alumni, students and industry partners.

In 2023 the programme celebrated its 25th anniversary at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, with over 400 finance professionals, academics and alumni in attendance. Together with Professor James Sefton I presented awards to outstanding Finance alumni in recognition of their achievements and contributions to the Imperial community.

Academic Director, MSc Risk Management and Financial Engineering (2012 — present)

I have served as Academic Director of the MSc Risk Management and Financial Engineering since 2012, leading and developing a rigorous programme that prepares students for careers in quantitative finance and risk management.


Programmes I Have Previously Directed

Academic Director, MSc Financial Technology (2019 — 2025)

I served as Co-Academic Director of the MSc Financial Technology from its launch in 2019 until 2025.


Academic Director, PhD Finance Programme (2007 — 2010)

I served as Academic Director of the PhD Finance Programme, overseeing the development and supervision of doctoral researchers in finance.


Other Leadership Contributions

Co-founder, Gender Committee, Imperial Business School (2016)

I co-founded the Gender Committee within Imperial Business School, an initiative focused on advancing equality, diversity and inclusion across the School's academic and professional community.
