Open Activity → Missing Maps, choose a workout, and select its matching original recording. Review shows the plan, warnings, and Save to Health. The overview also offers Save when a safe existing destination is available; uncertain cases open Review. Quick Save does not create workouts. A receipt separates confirmed writes, skipped measurements, and follow-up needs. Saved · Attention needed means some follow-up is required; check the receipt and recovery tools before retrying.
Saved is a noninteractive status. For an imported recording it requires a confirmed payload at the selected workout. Closing and reopening the same recording, including a renamed copy, restores compatible save options and verifies readable import evidence. Changes to the prepared data restore Save. Returning from another app checks the current Health evidence again. Health workouts opened directly already exist in Health.
Switching apps preserves your screen. After a restart, Lap Press can reopen the activity overview. A Health workout is read again by its exact ID; the current imported recording is kept locally for restoration. Close Activity or Back clears the open session without deleting Health data. Restoration never repeats a save or export.
Activity → Quick Links opens your configured watch website. Export the original file there and choose it in Lap Press. Manage Quick Links changes the destination. Original FIT files usually retain the most measurements and pause information. Lap Press never asks for Garmin credentials.
Open Settings → Health Data & Recovery for guidance. Missing or unreadable data can reflect synchronization, permissions, or the recording itself. Health does not reveal whether empty reads mean missing data or denied access. Optional measurements without write access are skipped. Review explains the data to be added and preserves other apps’ measurements.
Tap the activity map for Analyze and Design. Analyze links map positions, measurement charts, and a shared timeline. Select a best effort, change the measurement, or compare another metric. Missing readings and sensor gaps remain unavailable. Ignore Pauses excludes recorded manual and auto-pauses; unrecorded stops still count. Best Efforts needs detailed distance or GPS samples, not summary totals alone. Activity Data explains sources; original laps remain separate from calculated splits.
Use Library search, activity/date/distance filters, and saved collections to organize workout references. A collection does not copy or delete Health workouts. Each tab keeps independent filters. Records opens personal, distance, and yearly results; touch and hold an artifact time to ignore it or restore it. Weekly Volume opens a selected week’s activities and comparisons. Hiding empty weeks changes the list, while rolling averages still include them.
Open the Map tab. Tap its filter summary to change Activity, Date Range, or Location. Tap the legend to adjust limits or the color bar to edit palette and scaling. Pace values use minutes:seconds, such as 8:30. Hour and Time of Day use recorded time-zone information when available, otherwise the phone’s time zone. Route Density counts displayed workouts in map cells. Missing values stay gray; elevation uses recorded altitude.
The map menu offers route identification and area selection. Review flagged sections or hidden workouts there; screening is a reason to inspect, not proof of an error. These choices affect map drawing and artwork, not Health routes. Map Detail controls drawing detail without changing analysis. Large histories may take longer at Full detail. Reading can be canceled and resumed.
Activity → Share → Create Visual opens composition tools; the route workspace also offers Design. Style, Motion, and Layers organize the editor. Add text or photos, adjust layouts, save a look, and preview a still or animation before sharing. Share → Export Data offers GPX — Route, FIT — Workout Data, and CSV — Splits. Trim & Split creates export copies without changing the original recording or Health.
Health Data & Recovery exports supported readable workouts to a ZIP by activity, dates, measurements, and format. Inspect Export Details. Enabled privacy zones can filter coordinates; turning that protection off includes full accessible coordinates. This is not a complete Apple Health backup. Other apps may draw lines between disconnected exported locations.
Review → Add Missing Segments lets you model a stretch you remember running. It remains a purple dashed user estimate, separate from measured GPS, Health writes, records, splits, and comparisons. Estimated GPX is a separate export with a warning: another app may treat modeled coordinates as recorded data. Estimates cannot recreate heart rate, instantaneous pace, or other missing measurements.
Calorie Data is a separate reviewed operation. Check existing active energy in Health before confirming a repair. Empty reads cannot confirm that energy is absent. Garmin calorie summaries may include resting energy and are not used automatically. Apple controls activity-ring credit. Use the receipt and recovery flow if an operation is interrupted.
Open a Garmin ZIP or export folder, including nested ZIP files. Review import details, skipped files, and readable overlaps. Creating selected missing workouts is optional and requires confirmation; check Fitness first because read restrictions can hide existing workouts. Existing routes are checked again before attachments. Review Long Activities offers explicit split or trim choices based on recorded long pauses, not missing GPS. The original file stays unchanged.
Manage Imports removes Lap Press attachments. Delete Imported Workout is a separate confirmed action limited to workouts Lap Press created. Other apps’ workouts and samples stay. Health Data & Recovery lists unfinished work; restore required write access before retrying removals. Reopen the original export to retry an incomplete import.
Reset Recovery Records clears local bookkeeping only. Deleting Lap Press does not delete Health workouts or exported copies. Manage Health data in Apple Health and exported copies at their destinations.
Open an activity and select Weather → Show. Successful WeatherKit results display Apple Weather and Weather Data Sources together. Apple Weather data sources identify providers. Saved Health weather is labeled separately. The public example does not request weather. Weather requests do not write to Health.
Activity → Quick Links → Example Activity opens the public Boston route with simulated timing. It cannot save to Health. Route geometry is attributed to OpenStreetMap contributors in the app.
Supported recordings: FIT, GPX, TCX, KML/KMZ, GeoJSON, CSV, PWX, Polar HRM, NMEA, ZIP, and GZ. Measurements depend on the recording and readable Health data. Lap Press is independent and is not affiliated with Apple or Garmin.
