Project Management App Diary

As part of the Asgardia Research and Development Committee, I am working with other professionals in the development of a business case to be put forward to the Science Committee in order to put forward a system to manage projects within the Asgardia nation. At the moment we are looking at a number of different objectives, and one of the potential systems that needs to be implemented is a project management and corporate management system. Documents need to be catalogued, and resources managed, and potential ideas for a MVP have been discussed. One of the aspects of the service that will be offered is a project management platform that is integrated with a corporate management system. This application has been thought out over a period of time.

Resources

The main application will be implemented in the cloud on a VM, it is currently deployed on AWS, under a Wordpress Platform with a plugin to demonstrate that this can be achieved. The customised project management platform will be further developed with .NET to work with a larger database as the project expands.

Mobile Client

The client for the application will be available via mobile platform, to enable ease of access to the web application, so that team members can get updates. Currently communication is happening via Discord; this platform does not need to be replaced, but it would be useful to add a bot to the R&D chat channel via the Discord API in order to provide updates to team members regarding changes or notifications in the project management and CMS.

Workflow Automation

It is envisaged that this will be an integrated service, that enables workflows and process automation to occur, an AI assistant will also enable tasks to be automated, or questions answered in order to provide general efficiency. Zapier integration of services across platform to enable automated workflows will be further looked into.

Original Documentation

The original document that was produced for an earlier project will be revised in order to assist for the development of an enhanced platform, and the end users are Asgardian team members, and members of the Science Council, so this platform will be produced in order to cater specifically for the needs of Asgardia.

Background

Estonia has established complete digital governance, and it is envisaged that an integrated digital platform will underscore a lot of the work that occurs in Asgardia in order to both remove a lot of bureaucratic excess, and also to improve efficiency. This has been examined as a context to work from, and will be consulted on an ongoing basis.
