-Madison Southern Discus School Record-
When I was a freshman in high school, I had yet to decide where I would go with track and field. I did it mainly to do something during the football off-season. Little did I know it would be my college sport. I set the goal of breaking the discus throw school record of 133 feet. After that, I worked very hard, slowly increasing my distance in the discus throw. I knew breaking the record would be difficult because I had no coach or trainer to get me where I needed to be athletically and strength-wise in the weight room. I was self-taught and did my workouts to get to my goal. I was on the verge of breaking the record until COVID hit. I did not let this stop me; however, after the pandemic was taming and my senior year started, I didn’t have many chances to break the record, so I put everything I had into every throw in every track meet. I eventually broke the school record by seventeen feet marking at 150'1' and advanced to the Kentucky state meet, where I placed 14th. I had a lousy meet during the State meet, but getting to that point was an honor.
-Winning my Regional high school Championship-
When I set the school record, as explained in the previous text, that was in the regional championship for my high school, it was the very last throw I had to do something big. So I threw the previous throw with everything I had. It ended up being 150’1”, setting the school record by a mile and winning the regional championship by a significant margin compared to the second-place thrower. This exact throw is included on my YouTube channel that you can access through my Social Links page!
-Graduation from high school and transferring to college-
I went through all four high school years as a three-sport athlete, accomplishing many goals, including being recruited for track and field at Wabash, achieving solid scholarships, and being a part of the number 2 alum network in the Nation.
-Honorable mention accomplishments-
I achieved many minor achievements along the way, such as getting a Rookie of the Year award in wrestling, winning many track meets or placing in them, and winning many football games with many tackles when I played as a defensive end. In addition, the football team won our district championship three times that I was a part of, and they also got state runner-ups when I was a freshman.
