The Site is approximately 20ha in size (including the site access) and comprises of open land to the north of properties on Urban Way, Northfields and Mountbatten Drive in Biggleswade. Furzenhall Road is a Bridleway (BW10), which runs from Potton Road northward where it transects the Site. The northern boundary of the site is bound by a Public Right of Way (FP14). To the west of the Site, is the East Coast Main Line (ECML), with housing beyond it. To the east is a newer housing development which has been recently completed.
Policy Allocation
The principle of residential development at the site has been established having been allocated for housing development (circa 401 dwellings) by the Council under reference HAS06 of Policy HA1 of the Central Bedfordshire Local Plan.
