Public Art

The outline planning permission requires a Public Art Scheme to be agreed with the Council before any above ground building work commences.

As part of the outline planning application, previous discussions took place with Biggleswade Town Council on potential options and themes indicated a strong preference that public art could reflect the local areas market gardening heritage. Initial themes that were discussed included:

·         Making reference to the local people that worked in the market gardening industry

·         Drawing inspiration from the produce that was grown in the local area

·         Referencing how the opening of the railway line in 1850 greatly improved accessibility to the London Markets.

Your feedback on options and potential locations for integration of Public Art, are important to us, and we welcome your thoughts and ideas.
