Experience
Experience
At UC Berkeley’s Social Sciences D-Lab, I support researchers and graduate students in applying data science methods to social impact projects. My consulting focuses on helping scholars design reproducible analyses, interpret statistical models, and integrate AI tools for ethical, human-centered research.
I have joined the Algorithms & Computing for Education (ACE) Lab as a Graduate Researcher, contributing to faculty-led projects in AI and educational technology. I am also initiating my own research project focused on developing innovative Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools.
At UC Berkeley’s ACE Lab and UC Riverside, I design and manage AI tools that enhance communication and learning. I focus on creating ethical, human-centered AI products that bridge research and real-world impact.
Trained U-Net models in PyTorch on synthetic and real-world datasets (12k+ images) to generate RGB and amodal masks, enabling computer vision systems to achieve object permanence and detect occluded objects. Results were evaluated with custom metrics and presented to laboratory staff.
Conduct competitive analysis, backend research, and design detailed user flows to shape emotionally intelligent AI interactions. My work blends product research, UX strategy, and conversational design to create sensitive, human-centered communication experiences.
Researcher
I designed AI solutions, including guidelines for chronic disease conversational agents and chatbots like the TriNetX GPT tool for the School of Medicine. Leading a team, I developed a project management chatbot in Python, supported by an undergraduate research mini-grant.
Instructor
Over 2 years, I taught BUS 198 - NLP for Everyday Use, a one-unit R'Course at UCR focused on practical AI tools. Students explore real-world applications of NLP, including sentiment analysis, text classification, and tools like ChatGPT.
Tutor
At UCR's ARC, I provided academic support in Business and Statistics, helping students grasp complex concepts, complete coursework, and build confidence to succeed academically.
Peer Mentor
As a Summer Peer Mentor for HESA, I guided incoming freshmen through their transition to college life, leading group activities, answering questions, and fostering confidence in their first year at UCR.
At Fremont Elementary, I served as a TA, providing personalized academic support to classes of 20+ students. I focused on building their confidence and helping them achieve their learning goals through tailored guidance.
At Bobby Bonds Teen Camp, I led activities and mentored teens, creating a fun and inclusive environment. Working with 20-30 campers, I promoted teamwork, leadership, and personal growth throughout the program.
I have led community service projects with up to 70 volunteers, organizing initiatives for sustainability, beautification, and engagement. I’ve also contributed to events like the UCI Beach Cleanup, Riverside Alley Cleanup, Villegas Park Halloween Fair, and a Cult Cinema showing.
