The Bold Hotel 583 Lord St, PR9 0BE is an award-winning, luxury, boutique hotel in Southport, hence the

prestige location! Both the hotel and the Atkinson were suggested by one of our members, John Howard,

with his usual flair for really good days out.

‘Drop ins’ are a new initiative to tempt new members to meet up. Please feel comfortable arriving alone -

just look for committee members wearing LRMA lapel badges with their names on. We welcome ‘fresh

faces and hope these ‘Drop in’ events tempt more members to take partEach LRMA member can bring one

subsidised guest. Further guests are welcome but unsubsidised. You can stay for both events or arrive

just for one. Please indicate which you are likely to do - see below. ‘The Bold’ and‘The Atkinson’ need to

know our group size to ensure their own staffing levels.

There is adjacent on-street parking up to 4+ hrs £8. On Seabank Rd, a street parallel to Lord St, behind

‘The Bold,’ you can park in a private carpark all day for £3. Southport train station is a 15 min stroll away.

The Bold has a well-stocked bar, including four cask beers. It is an excellent venue with a good menu and

carvery.

A small carvery at the Bold costs £7.50, a medium costs £10.50 and large costs £14.50. On arrival each

member and guest will be given an LRMA food-only voucher for £7.50 - so a free lunch, if you choose the

small carvery! Please arrive before 11:45am so we can hopefully all get settled before the Carvery opens at

mid-day. If enough people choose the carvery the Manager hopes to offer a wider selection of

meats.

Following lunch at ‘The Bold’ you can ‘go your own way’ or join us for a leisurely 15-minute walk on the

level to ‘The Atkinson.’ This is an elegant arts venue in a nineteenth century building on Lord St. At 14:00 a

60-minute tour of the Museum will take place. During, or after, the tour feel free to explore the rest of the

Atkinson including an exhibition of local artists’ work, mostly for sale.
