GMP Museum

‘ello, ‘ello !!

In the centre of Manchester there is a little-known museum

devoted to the history of policing in the city since the 1830’s. It is to be found at 57a Newton

Street, M1 1ET - a short walk from the bustle of Picadilly Station and in the Northern Quarter.

We would like to invite you to join us for a guided tour of the Greater Manchester Police Museum

on Thursday 15 October 2026. We hope to start the tour at 10:00 and it lasts approximately till

12:00. We will meet outside the museum from 09:45 onwards.

After the tour, we will proceed in an orderly fashion to the Weatherspoons opposite Picadilly

Gardens. We cannot reserve rooms or tables there but if we enter as a group we can attempt to

sit near each other. While there we plan to stay out of trouble so we don’t end up back in here

and here!

if you fancy a trip down GMP’s memory lane with us there is a maximum of thirty spaces to fill.

We will be making a donation to the museum so the only cost to you is your own food, drink and

travel.
