Lalotalie ECAT Ventures leads the way in pioneering Eco-Cultural Adventure Tourism (ECAT) in Samoa.
Our approach is rooted in three pillars of authentic hospitality: conserving the natural beauty of Falease'ela/Matafa'a, preserving local traditions, and promoting transformative experiences while honouring Fa'a Samoa (the way of life in Samoa).
Lalotalie is a family owned and operated venture based solely in and around Falease'ela Tai and across the bay to the west, the village of Matafa'a. Lalotalie was founded by Tuiafutea Olsen and Jane Va'afusuaga, along with their daughter, Coco Sieni and supported by aiga (extended family) in Samoa and NZ.
Tuiafutea Olsen (known as Tui) is a New Zealand born Samoan who is well versed in Samoan culture and has been a matai (High Chief) of Faleaseéla for the last 25 years and has been involved in community and village projects and sports development including English cricket and rugby league.
Tui is also the Project Manager of Falease'ela Environment Protection Society as well as a cofounder of the Samoa Rangers Association. Tui has a background in the tourism industry, having worked on a cruise ship sailing around the Pacific, as well as having worked in the Australia Outback, United Kingdom and Queenstown, New Zealand. Tui is your tour guide extraordinaire!
