Lakewood Black Hawks to Hold Golf Outing June 21st, 2024

to Benefit Scholarship Fund

The Lakewood Black Hawks, a local organization dedicated to the betterment of Lakewood and its surrounding communities, will hold its 26th Annual Golf Outing at the historic Lakewood Country Club, 145 Country Club Drive, Lakewood, on Friday, June 21, 2024 to fund scholarship and athletic awards for local individuals and groups.

Each year, The Lakewood Black Hawk sponsor a golf outing to raise funds for graduating Lakewood High School seniors; American Legion, Boys’ and Girls’ State candidates; Lakewood Historical Society projects; Lakewood Elks Special Needs Children’s programs, Lakewood Middle and Elementary School programs, and emergency support for local children and families in need, among a host of other charities.

Registration and warm-up refreshments begin at Noon, followed by a 1:00 p.m. Shotgun Start. The format is a Scramble or Best Ball from tee to green.

The fee for each golfer is $145 or $580 for a foursome and includes greens fees, golf cart, gift bag, and prizes. Winning foursomes, those with Closest to Pin and Longest Drive will receive awards.

Title sponsorships, gift donations, tee, warm-up, and cart sponsors are still available. Many gifts and prizes will be raffled off. Contact the Black Hawks for more information at lakewoodblackhawks@gmail.com or for sponsorships and gift donations.

The Lakewood Black Hawks presented their 2023 Scholarship Awards. The Black Hawks were proud to award 15 scholarships in total including 11 academic awards and 4 athletic awards to Lakewood High School College Bound Seniors.

Installation Dinner

On Saturday, January 25th from 7-11p we will be having our annual Officers Installation Dinner. Please join us as we say goodbye and thank you to outgoing President Rich Calabro and welcome incoming President Mike Bryce and our other new officers.

This year we will be having a Saturday evening event at River Rock Restaurant & Marina Bar, 1600 NJ-70, Brick Township, NJ 08724

In addition to great menu created by our own CJ Theibault, Social Chair, we will also have an open bar (additional cost) for those interested. Cost for the event is FREE to all Hawks members, but if you would like to participate in the open bar there is a member charge of $30. Guest costs are $35 for food only and $65 for food plus open bar.

Lake Carasaljo Cleanup: On Sunday, April 7th at 9:00am the Black Hawks will be helping to clean up the area around Lake Carasaljo. All members should arrive promptly at 9am and all supplies and tools will be provided. We are planning to meet at the big parking lot on North Lake Dr. promptly at 9am. Post cleanup we will head over to the Laketon for some refreshments.

Congratulations to two of our members for being inducted into the Lakewood High School Hall of Fame

Robert Rothstein passed away on Feb. 8, 2019 Services will be held by ORENDER Family Home for Funerals. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Tuesday February 12, 2019 at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ. a service will be held at 7pm at the home. Please post on the Hawk web-site.

John Barron will attend at 4pm ... hope some members can join me. Bobby was a faithful member when it came to showing up to pay respects for member's viewings. It would be appropriate to have a good showing of Hawks for his.

Reminder that the Lakewood Black Hawks are being recognized by the Lakewood Board of Education at its public meeting that same evening at 7:30pm at the commons area of the Lakewood High School.
