The Lakewood Black Hawks, founded in 1935, have a long history of service to the Township of Lakewood. Black Hawk members work together to sponsor and support a multitude of community endeavors.
The club was initially created by a group of Lakewood High School graduates who desired to continue playing basketball together after graduation. Through the years, the Club has evolved from an athletic organization into a social/civic club with varied interests. Our members include professionals, tradesmen, businessmen, blue-collar workers and civil servants. The Club's purpose is to support the local community and to cultivate a spirit of social camaraderie amongst its members.
A long-standing program of the Black Hawk organization is a golf outing/tournament in June, which funds several educational scholarships and athletic awards. Through other events we make donations to many worthwhile organizations and the club participates in local events which promote the organization and community.
As a club we are proud of our accomplishments and of the service we lend our community.
