Parent Volunteers

We are always looking for parent volunteers for choir. There are 2 types of volunteers--level 1 and level 2. Level 1 volunteers are allowed to chaperone local field trip and help in the classroom, but they are not allowed to be alone with students at anytime and cannot chaperone overnight field trips. Level 2 volunteers can chaperone overnight field trips and are allowed to be in charge of a group of students on a field trip. The application process for Level 1 and Level 2 volunteers is similar, but Level 2 requires a few more steps. Please follow the steps below to apply to be a volunteer for Lake County Schools.

• Step 1: Email Mr. Tapson to check if you are an approved volunteer.
• Step 2: If you are not an approved volunteer, go to lake.k12.fl.us and click on "Volunteer Information and Application" under "Most Popular Links." Follow the steps to apply online.
• Step 3: Email Mr. Tapson after you complete the application and tell him if you wish to be processed as Level 1 or Level 2. If Level 1, watch your email for confirmation within a few weeks.
• Step 4 (Level 2 only): In order to receive an appointment for finger printing, you must print and complete the FDLE Waiver, which can be found HERE. Return this waiver to Mr. Tapson, and you will then be called about your appointment for finger printing.
