We intend to start and end rehearsals on time; unforeseeable situations may cause delays, and we appreciate your patience. We will update you via our app (Stack Teamapp - Lake Shore Dance)
Rehearsals are closed to observation; only dancers, Lake Shore Dance employees, and volunteers are allowed in the theater and backstage.
Training division dancers are expected to stretch and review their dances before their rehearsal block.
If your child needs a snack in between arriving at the rehearsal and the end of the rehearsal, they must consume the snack before checking in - food is not allowed in the theater. This includes Starbucks and other non-water beverages
To perform in the show, every dancer must attend the technical rehearsals.
During technical rehearsals, we “block” the dances and run through the pieces as we would at the performance, so each dancer is familiar with the performance venue and stage lighting.
Be prepared for short delays – we may run up to 30 minutes late. We will post on Team apps when delays occur. *Download our studio app, hosted by Teamapp (teamapp.com) and available for download in the App Store and Play Store. Search “Lake Shore Dance” and request membership. You automatically get notifications and/or emails with updates.
Solos, duets, and trios that haven’t competed may rehearse in the time slots before and after their class times. Please talk with your private lesson instructor to select a time.
Rehearsals are closed to observation to minimize distractions and keep rehearsals on schedule.
Children in Little Movers and Tiny Tots will rehearse on the day of their performance. These students should arrive in costume and wearing their dance shoes when they check in for the rehearsal.
Dancers should not wear costumes to technical rehearsals.
Please dress your child in their classroom attire.
Female Students: Black leotard and pink tights. Ballet skirts are acceptable in addition to the leotard and tights.
Male Students: White plain shirt and black pants or shorts.
Label all of your dancer's items.
Bring all of your child's dance shoes in a labeled dance bag.
We have a special arrangement for your child's big day to help them feel comfortable and excited to perform.
Rehearsals
Students in Little Movers and Tiny Tots will rehearse right before their performance.
Please have your student dressed in their costume and ballet shoes at check-in.
Our team will meet your child at check-in and walk them backstage with their dance bags. We will not take their cover-ups/clothing or outside shoes; you will retain these items.
The students will rehearse on stage before we open the theater doors to the audience and then remain with us for the show.
Performance
We will assist your child in lining up and performing.
Little Movers and Tiny Tots classes will perform relatively early in the show. After they perform, the theater lights will brighten slightly. We will have our little dancers sit at the end of the stage. At this time, one parent will approach the stage, pick up their child, and return to their seat to finish the rest of the show.
