Please discuss these expectations with your child prior to arriving at the theater.
Food and drink, other than water, are not allowed in the dressing room area. These items will be confiscated if found. Costumes are an investment and this precaution is taken so no one’s costumes are ruined. This includes volunteers, faculty, and staff.
Do not take photos in the dressing room ever. Dressing rooms are for changing which means there is a possibility that a child’s privacy could be compromised unexpectedly in your photos.
Keep your area clean and organized. Put your costumes, shoes, and accessories away as soon as you change to avoid lost items.
Be a helper - offer your assistance to anyone if they seem to be in a rush or need help in any way so long as you are ready for your next photo or performance.
Be kind, courteous, and respectful. Be sure to thank the volunteers and other dancers for their help, stay calm when situations get stressful, use polite words and tones, and share your space.
Because this is a professional performance, the following guidelines must be observed. Our ushers are required to enforce these guidelines. Please use this opportunity to teach your child about auditorium etiquette by setting a good example.
Keep your feet off the seats and do not kick the chair in front of you. Insist on this behavior from your children and guests.
If a child sitting with you is crying and cannot be consoled quickly, please step out of the auditorium until the child has calmed.
Remain seated while the dancers perform on stage.
*Leaving during a performance can and will distract dancers and can block other audience members’ views.*
Only exit the auditorium in between numbers with the guidance of the ushers and during intermission.
Refrain from talking during the show.
Applaud for every number onstage.
Videotaping is not allowed. The ushers will confiscate any recording devices. For the safety of the dancers and the comfort of those around you, no photography or videotaping will be allowed so please shut off all electronic devices.
The lights from phone screens are a major distraction to other audience members.
Enjoy the show live - you will miss the excitement and performance nuances by watching the performance from a tiny screen
Do not bring food or drinks into the auditorium. Food or drink in the auditorium will be confiscated or you will be asked to leave. This guideline is set by the Performing Arts Center to keep the facility clean.
