Photographic Keepsakes has captured memories of our students for over a decade -their work crafts beautiful images for your child's scrapbook.
May 3: Cedarburg Studio (AM)
May 3: West Bend Studio (PM)
May 4: Port Washington Studio (AM)
Your child's class (es) will be scheduled for a photo time. The schedule will be posted below.
**Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your child's first scheduled picture. **
Keep the order line moving by having your picture day forms and payment method filled out before your arrival.
All pictures will be held at the studio location that your child takes class or rehearses at each week unless otherwise noted on the schedule.
West Bend level 7+ and Pointe will take pictures in Port Washington on May 4
Select Team Group 1 will take their pictures in Cedarburg on May 3
We request that every dancer comes to picture day so that we can have an archival class picture to remember the year by.
Have your child’s costumes altered (if necessary) before picture day. If your child has a tutu, you need to let it “fluff” up by taking it out of the bag, shaking it out, and then hanging it upside down.
Organize your child’s costumes in the order they will take pictures.
Try garment bags or garment racks to keep your child’s costumes organized.
Consider Ziploc bags for each piece - place hairpieces, accessories, coordinating tights, etc in the bag. Write the costume, class, and shoe style/color for that costume on the bag.
Children’s classes will take their class photos in their ballet shoes.
*Level 1 - 2 dancers will wear their ballet skirts for the photo.
There will be fun ordering options for composite photos - have your child take their photo in the tap and/or jazz looks to have a composite photo of all three looks!
Level 3 - Level 8 dancers will take pictures of each technique they perform with the appropriate shoes and tights.
Send your child to the studio with hair and makeup completed. Space is limited for hair and makeup on-site. We do not provide hair and makeup services for your child.
For pictures, you may style your child’s hair as you wish.
Makeup is optional for dancers in the children’s division.
Pictures commemorate your child’s dance year and are a memory that lasts forever! Remember to order groups and individual shots for your child’s scrapbook.
Before picture day, complete order forms for pictures that you will be purchasing.
If you need to fill out your order forms at picture day, arrive more than 10 minutes before your child's first picture.
Order forms and pricing sheets will be available approximately two weeks prior to the photoshoot.
One order form will be distributed for each class your child is in.
Extra order forms at the front desk.
Forms will also be available at the photoshoot.
Each class/dance and special pictures will need a separate order form.
Use one order form per photo you will purchase
The class code is the letter code found on the photo schedule sheet. You must use this code to ensure the accuracy of your order. Our photographers bring several photo props to enhance the photo shoot. Boxes, stools, benches, stars and an “I Love Dance” sign are some of the options. If you don’t wish to have your child use a prop for their individual photo, please write “no prop” on your form
Ordering an ad photo: If you are ordering an ad for your child in the program for the show, we advise you to use a photo taken by our photographers. Please note that the photo is for an ad on your order form for the photo you wish to have featured in the program. The photographer handles delivering the photos directly to our graphics designer.
Ordering Special photos (ie: sibling dance photos, photos for solos, duets, or trios learned in private lessons, friend dance photos) may be taken at any point throughout the photoshoot that does not conflict with or delay the dancer’s group photo. A photo package must be ordered before the photo is taken.
On picture day:
Payment is due at the time of the shoot. All payments are made directly through Photographic Keepsakes, not Lake Shore Dance.
Arrive early - the photographers have an order station set-up when you walk in where you will make your purchase.
If you select a package with an individual picture (a photo of only your child), the photographer will give you the white copy back.
Give the white copy to the classroom assistant or teacher (for children’s division) or direct your older dancer to have the form with the coordinating costume and remind them to give it to the photographer. The white sheet lets the photographer and teachers/volunteers know that your child needs to take an individual. Individual photos will not be taken without this sheet.
Delivery of the photos
Pictures will arrive at Lake Shore Dance often within one month of the shoot – be sure to pick them up promptly once we post or email that they are available.
We will only hold photos for 6 months after the delivery. You are responsible for picking them up before this deadline. We will throw away photos once we reach the deadline. We are not responsible for replacing pictures that have been discarded and not picked up before the 6-month deadline.
Address any problems with your order directly to the photographer. Their contact information can be found in your photos when you pick them up.
At Picture Day
Arrival Time (call): 15 minutes before the time listed for your child’s class
The time listed on the schedule is the time the photo for that class will be taken.
The photo will not be taken earlier than the posted time but could occur up to 15 minutes past due to unforeseen delays.
*We are often ahead of schedule for photos - please plan to arrive on time. We will post on our app if the photos are running way ahead of schedule.
We cannot hold the photo for late arrivals and we will not retake group photos for late arrivals.
The photoshoot for each group will last 5-15 minutes.
Pictures for solos, duets, and trios as well as special photos (i.e.: sibling pictures) can be taken at any time throughout the day, but must not be taken during the time the child is supposed to be posing with their class in another costume. There is time blocked out in the picture day schedule for these pictures - if at all possible, please arrange to take these pictures in this timeframe. Pictures will start and conclude promptly as scheduled.
Lake Shore Dance Team Members and pre-selected Volunteers will be on hand to assist with picture day. For your child’s safety, only volunteers are allowed past the check-in point.
Dancers are expected to clean up after themselves.
The layout of the facility on picture day:
Dancers with multiple costumes will be assigned spaces for dressing rooms.
Studio A will hold the actual photoshoot.
Access to the studio area is restricted to dancers, team members, and authorized volunteers to minimize congestion and maximize the efficiency of the photo shoot.
The photo shoot is closed to observation and photos may not be taken of the shoot or on the premises per the photographer’s contract. You and your dancer will be removed from the shoot if a picture is taken during the shoot or on the premises.
Parental and sibling access is restricted in the dressing rooms. Dancers are changing and we need to protect their privacy. If you must connect with a dancer (ie to give the dancer something or speak with a dancer), you will need to speak with the volunteers and the dancer will be brought out to you. We thank you for your cooperation!
