Poetry can be read in a variety of ways; individually (silently or aloud), chorally (duet poems), in echo fashion, etc. As a teacher, it is an excellent idea to have students keep a poetry notebook or folder (Sample notebooks will be shared in class.) and to have daily or weekly poetry readings in class. Not only are they quick and easy to use but they will help your students FLUENCY immensely!
The following example is a choral poem meant to be read aloud by individuals and groups. Let's read it!
Poetry and its many forms can be used an alternative assessment and in many content areas. See the information below regarding BIO (Biography) Poems with samples!
