〜Halloween Nightmare〜

Short Story

 On October 31, the moment of her 10th birthday, Jill was curled up alone on the side of a dirty road. It was the day after the disaster of her parents and her house being burned down by robbers. A man named Jack called out to her. A cunning man who had once outwitted even the devil, he used his words to brainwash Jill and use her for evil.

 Jill was smart and good-looking, and was more useful than Jack expected. She had little guilt about her wrongdoings, and she began to enjoy the stimulation that she could never have gotten by studying at home. Before she knew it, she had come to call Jack "Daddy" and adore him, and her greatest joy was being petted after finishing a job and being told 

"Good job. I love you, Jill."

And receiving her favorite apple as a reward.

 One day, two years after they met, they suddenly parted ways. While burglarizing a house as usual, Jack happened to bump into the homeowner who had returned to retrieve something he had forgotten. In an attempt to protect Jack, Jill stabbed homeowner with a knife, but she was shot as well. Breathing shallowly, she muttered, "Jack...Help..." and died shortly thereafter. There were no tears in Jack's eyes when he buried her body in the mountain. 

 Shortly afterwards, on Halloween night, someone knocked on the door of Jack's house. "Trick or treat." He swallowed his saliva at the familiar voice.
