BRANCHES
The Higher Echelon / L'échelon Supérieur
The Higher Echelon is the cabinet of Le Deuxieme. It's composed of Le Deuxieme himself, his advisors, and clerks who provide assistance for the cabinet. The Higher Echelon was instated following the November 12th Revolution under Le Premier, Henry Myers. The Higher Echelon is made up of higher class officers and middle class white collar workers (clerks).
The Guard / La Garde
The Guard is the police force of Madsen, tasked with upholding law and order and defending the town from external threats. The branch is mostly made up of middle-class policemen.
The Workforce / La Main-D'œuvre
Madsen's workforce is responsible for maintaining Madsen's infrastructure, logistics, and industry. The workforce is effectively split into three divisions: the blue collar workers, grey collar workers, and white collar workers. Blue collar workers are firmly in the lower class, grey collar workers are in the higher-lower class and lower-middle class, and white collar workers are in the middle class.
CLASS STRUCTURE
Higher Class
The higher class is composed solely of the highest ranking (HR+) officers of Madsen. They have the most money and the most power amongst the people. They are typically corrupt, though still loyal to the ranks above them. Most respect the lower class and try to leave them alone in their corrupt ways, though it’s not unusual for the lower and middle class to get caught in the crossfire of their actions. The higher class benefits the rest of Madsen with their wealth and power, which is how many officers within the town remain in power despite their typically immoral attitude.
Middle Class
Made up of the law enforcers of La Garde, workforce managers, businessmen, and generally esteemed and/or “loyal” citizens of the town of Madsen. The middle class consists of a mix of the higher and lower class’s beliefs, some occasionally participating in corruption while others value ethics and morals. Most are loyal to the cabinet and their higher-ups, though there are still some who value the beliefs of the lower class and choose to integrate themselves in the lower economic society.
Lower Class
Standard citizens of Madsen. Lowly dock workers, coal miners, technicians, laborers, construction workers, doctors, and the list goes on. These people have formed a brotherhood of sorts amongst their economic class and value ethics above all else. The lower class typically respects the middle class, who are mostly enforcers of the law, though they have a strong distaste for the higher class.
