One of the purposes of LACEAAA is to assist its members in preparing for promotional opportunities. As the City ramps up hiring, multiple promotional opportunities are on the horizon such as the Management Analyst, Administrative Analyst, Personnel Analyst, and many more!

In an effort to facilitate opportunities for our members,  we are launching a Mentoring/Mock Interview Match. We’re reaching out to LACEAAA members in senior roles with the City to be potential mentors who could provide mock interviews for members studying for promotional exams. If you are interested in participating as an interviewer, please fill out this INTEREST FORM and we’ll put you on the list to be matched with a fellow LACEAAA member who is interested in promoting. We hope to make these matches by the end of August, so please let us know about your interest as soon as possible. 

What will be involved: 

• If you are matched with a mentee or mentees, we’ll introduce you and you can exchange contact information.

• You and your match can set up a mutually agreeable time to perform the mock interview. The mock interview, including feedback, should only take about 45 minutes and may be conducted online.

• We’ll provide some sample interview questions, but don’t hesitate to bring your specific expertise to the interview!

The Administrative Analyst examination is fast approaching and LACEAAA is happy to announce a training opportunity! We will be offering a one-day online seminar on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 8:30 AM, that will cover important topics such as:  

1. City Structure & Policies 

2. Budgeting

3. Contracting & Procurement

4. Personnel

5. Mathematical Concepts

If you plan on taking the Management Analyst exam in the future, this is a great foundational session that will touch on many of the same topics.
