Chhattisgarh: At a Glance

Chhattisgarh is a state in central India known for its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. It’s the tenth largest state in India by area, covering 135,190 square kilometers, and the sixteenth largest by population, with approximately 2.08 crore (20.8 million) people. The state is landlocked and shares its borders with seven other states: Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh. The state’s capital is Raipur, and it was officially formed on 1st November 2000, when it was separated from Madhya Pradesh. Chhattisgarh is often referred to as the “Rice Bowl of India” for its extensive rice cultivation. The state also has a significant tribal population, which adds to its diverse cultural landscape. Chhattisgarh’s economy is one of the fastest growing in India, thanks to its abundant mineral resources and a strong focus on industries such as steel production and electricity generation. The state’s forested areas, which make up a large part of its geography, contribute to its biodiversity and are a source of livelihood for many of its inhabitants.

Financial provisions and regular reports for effective library management.
