Summary: Prayer Mate does not collect, store, or transmit any of the prayer or deed data you record, that always stays on your device. The App uses the internet only to display ads through Google AdMob, which may collect limited advertising-related data as described in Section 5 below.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Prayer Mate ("the App", "we", "our") handles information when you use the App. We built Prayer Mate to be a fully private, offline Islamic worship companion, and this policy reflects that design.

2. Information We Collect

Prayer Mate itself does not collect any personal information directly. Specifically:

No account creation, sign-in, email address, or phone number is required or requested.

No prayer records, deed records, or settings you enter are ever transmitted to us or to any third party.

No crash-reporting or analytics SDKs (e.g. Firebase, Crashlytics) are integrated into the App.

The App does use Google AdMob to display advertisements, which may collect certain advertising-related data as explained in Section 5 ("Advertising") below.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

All information you enter — including your prayer records, deed tracking, custom deeds, and app settings — is stored exclusively on your device using a local database and local app preferences. This data:

Never leaves your device.

Is not backed up to any cloud service by the App.

Is fully under your control, and is permanently deleted if you uninstall the App or clear its data.

4. Permissions Used and Why

Prayer Mate requests only the device permissions necessary for its core features and for displaying ads to work. It does not request Camera, Microphone, Contacts, or storage access.

Permission Purpose

Internet Required by Google AdMob to request, load, and display ads, and to report ad performance to Google. Your prayer/deed data itself is never sent over this connection.

Access Network State Allows the AdMob SDK to check network connectivity before requesting an ad.

Location (Fine / Coarse) Used only on-device, and only when you choose "Use Current Location," to calculate accurate local prayer times and the Qibla direction. Never transmitted anywhere.

Schedule / Use Exact Alarm Lets the App trigger prayer reminders and alerts at the precise prayer time.

Full-Screen Intent Displays the prayer time alert screen over the lock screen when a prayer time arrives.

Post Notifications Allows the App to show prayer reminders, alerts, and the live countdown notification.

Receive Boot Completed Restores your scheduled prayer alarms automatically after you restart your phone.

Wake Lock Briefly keeps the device awake so alarm sound/vibration plays reliably.

Vibrate Provides haptic feedback for prayer alerts and Qibla alignment.

Foreground Service Powers the live "next prayer" countdown shown in your notification bar.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Prayer Mate displays advertisements using Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service provided by Google. To serve ads, AdMob (and its partners) may automatically collect and process certain information, which may include:

Advertising ID and other device identifiers

IP address and general (non-precise) location

Device information (model, OS version, language)

App usage and ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

This information is collected and processed by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can manage ad personalization for your Google Account, or opt out of interest-based ads, through your device's ad settings (e.g. Settings → Privacy → Ads on Android, or Google Settings → Ads).

The App does not use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or any other third-party analytics/tracking SDK beyond Google AdMob. The App contains no in-app purchases or paid subscriptions.

6. Children's Privacy

Prayer Mate itself collects no personal data from anyone, including children. However, because the App displays ads through Google AdMob, and ad networks may serve non-personalized ads and/or collect limited advertising data as described in Section 5, parents/guardians of child users should be aware of this when deciding whether the App is appropriate for a child to use.

7. Data Security

Because all data remains locally on your device and is never transmitted, the main protection of your information is the security of your own device (e.g. screen lock, device encryption).

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
