Office of the President

Dr. M. Christopher Brown II began his tenure as Kentucky State University’s 18th President May 15, 2017.

“I am profoundly honored to be named president of Kentucky State University, a revered and important higher education institution that has blazed trails in academia, equality, and higher learning since its founding in 1886,” said President Brown. “Kentucky State has a dedicated faculty, staff, and student body, and I know that we will forge deep, respectful relationships that will fuel great partnerships to benefit and promote this esteemed institution.”

President Brown’s blueprint for moving #KSUForward is held up by four pillars of success:

Access: Anyone that desires to earn a public education has access to an open, diverse, inclusive and affordable institution.

Academics: The colleges within Kentucky State remain focused on respective areas of scholarship and research, supporting a culture of academic rigor.

Agriculture: A continuation of Kentucky State’s legacy as an 1890 land-grant institution and leader in the areas of aquaculture and organic research.

Athletics: Embodying the Thorobred spirit of teamwork, strategy and victory.
