I started my journalism career during my first year at Simpson College after my advisor, my RA and the editor-in-chief of the student newspaper, "The Simpsonian," encouraged me to use my writing and communication abilities in a new way.
My first piece, a letter to the editor reviewing the soups in the campus center, was published during the spring semester of 2022, and my career at The Simpsonian grew from there. I became the feature editor in my second year at Simpson and was the managing editor and social media manager during my third and final year in undergrad.
At The Simpsonian, endearingly called "The Simp," I wrote a wide variety of stories ranging from Donald Trump coming to campus, one of our very own educators putting his bid in a local race and the retiring of multiple administrators. I gained a rapport for being one of the most notable students on Simpson's campus because of my work.
