Game Jam: Health and Well-Being

Created by:  Joseph, Mitchell, Alex and Kyle

Introduction

The second game jam that was introduced to us was a health and well-being theme. For this game jam we had to create and pitch an idea based on this theme. This game jam i teamed up with three other people, Joseph Bowman, Alex Needham and Mitchell Whittaker.

Our Idea

The initial idea we created was a multiplayer puzzle platformer confronting the topic of D.I.D which is a disorder that controls a person's behavior as well as making them depressed. The idea of this game is to allow players to switch between different disorders with each having their own world. With this, the players must solve puzzles using the different perspectives. Each player will not be able to communicate with each other so they will have to use their surroundings to guide each player to their next challenge.

My role

My role in this game jam was to create visual display's showing the controls for the game both on keyboard and controller. This is to allow people to get a better understanding of what they need to control the characters in this game. I had to make this both visual and helpful so that it looked appealing but understandable.

The Experience

The experience as a whole was great. I found that communication was fantastic and that we all had a great idea of what we wanted this game to turn out like. The idea came together very well and fit our target of what the end result was going to be. The team was great and produced some fantastic ideas and didn't mess around.

The Pitched Idea
