Futuristic
The third week of the showreel's was futuristic. This theme was hard to make up ideas at first as it was a broad theme. I was thinking between weapons/guns to eventually settling down on a scene. I decided to search into this so i got a better understanding of what i wanted to create. I saw some blender tutorials on how to create futuristic scenes inspired by cyber punk.Â
Production
I liked the idea of cyber punk as it is a futuristic game and very beautiful to look at. I decided to continue searching into this game to find any amazing scenes that struck my attention. I couldn't find anything too great so i continued on YouTube and came across an amazing model by a channel called Sketching In Blender. The video i used was a video creating a Cyber Punk city in blender. This video really inspired me to get creating something like this in 3ds max. Although this video was in blender it didn't stop me from starting it in Max. I started out with grey boxing so i made sure what i wanted the layout to look like. I then moved onto some detailed parts such as the pipes and the monorails and then i finally worked on the texturing and lighting to the scene to get the final look i wanted.
Grey boxed the level. Mapped out the level to get a better understand of what i want the scene to look like.
Added some minor details. Street props, windows, stairs, monorail, framework, wires and posters.
Finally added images and textures to the scene to bring it to life. Added more lighting to give the scene some colour.
The final render
Below is the final result to the scene i created in 3ds max. I am really proud of how it turned out and i love the level of detail i put into this scene. The problems i have with it are some unfinished buildings in the background and some of the textures aren't that great but other than that, i am really proud of this one.
