Pistol - USP45 (Weapon 4)
Moving on, I started work on the 4th gun in the list which was the USP45. This gun was one of the simplest guns to model but it did cause me some problems that I will go over further down and how I managed to solve the issues. The videos below include the entire process of me modelling, UV unwrapping and texturing the gun. The process was simple as at this point I have had enough experience in modelling these weapons now. I did have an issue modelling the top half of the gun which is shown briefly in the modelling process but I will cover more of that further down and how I came around that solution. The UV unwrapping process has started to become a breeze as I have had enough experience in this section which has helped me gather that knowledge of knowing what to do and where to start. During the whole process of texturing the USP45 in substance painter I helped myself via my mood boards on Miro by looking back at them to see what the materials are like on the gun to allow me to understand what I am missing to ensure I get the closest look to the real gun as much as I can.

How did it go?
The whole process of modelling this gun was one of my most successful ones as I didn't encounter any issues of things that would effect my gun in the final result. I had some issues that occurred when I was modelling my gun however the UV unwrapping went successfully and the texturing process was another success. I am proud of the final result on this gun and how everything turned out in the end as well as the small details I added to the gun such as the grips I added on the handle and the small grip/indentations I added to the top half of the gun.
Any Problems?
Throughout this model, I had two main issues that I had to go around fixing. The first one I came across was trying to replicate the shape of the gun. This problem was on the top half of the gun where I was trying to create an indent in the gun just like the real thing. This problem caused me many attempts which I eventually left at a state that I was not perfectly happy with. I attempted many different methods of trying to get this shape to appear on the gun by adding swift loops, pushing edges and pushing faces but I just couldn't get a perfect look. I would have some shading issues and eventually I just left it for a while. Eventually, I came back to try and solve this issue as I wasn't pleased with it.
Solutions..?
To solve my first problem of replicating the shape of the gun came to mind almost instantly when I was trying to re think the issue. A solution of extruding out the faces helped give off a similar look but not perfect. To me this solution made the gun look better than it did before and I didn't have any shading issues. Moving onto the second problem I thankfully had a recovery file show up when I relaunched the software so no work was lost. To solve this problem from happening again, I went straight into the settings and put on auto save so I wouldn't come across the issue of me loosing all the progress. To go around the solution of the center points not merging, I just manually merged each point as the mirror tool wasn't doing the job which had stopped the mesh from going inside out and bugging out my entire object.
