For this project, I had to pass a Cybersecurity Training module and I had to find news articles on cybersecurity attacks.
This article shares a recent story of the U.S. and it's allies dismantling a Russian Malware Network, "Snake". Malware is software designed with the express purpose of leaking your documents and being able to gain access to your systems. Russian has been using "Snake" to surveil different countries's communications and steal government documents in over 50 different countries, including the United States, and infect multiple businesses, corporate and local. This is my certificate for completing the CCBC Cybersecurity Training module, were I learned about different types of cyber attacks and how to prevent them.
I learned that there are multiple different types of cybersecurity attacks, including phishing and pharming. I also learned that people can use emails that look like they are from a colleague to trick people into downloading malware.
