The Kentucky Envirothon Program is an environmental education program for High School Students. Each year, Envirothon teams compete by demonstrating their knowledge of environmental science and natural resource management.

Teams work collaboratively to develop their knowledge of ecology and natural resource management and to practice their environmental problem-solving skills in preparation for Envirothon competitions.

Dedicated Envirothon coaches and advisers strive to promote a desire to learn more about the natural environment, promote stewardship of natural resources, encourage development of critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, and provide students with experience in environmentally oriented activities.

The FCCD currently sponsors two Envirothon teams at Paul Laurence Dunbar. If you are interested in starting an Envirothon team in Fayette County, please contact heather@kyfccd.com. We will sponsor registration fees for any team in the county.
