Overview
As an assistant professor at IIT Kharagpur and lead of the TFDO Lab, my research integrates high-fidelity simulations with advanced experimental techniques to solve complex problems in fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
Our core expertise lies in fluid-structure interaction (FSI) and nonlinear dynamics, where we investigate the coupling between deformable structures and chaotic flows, such as vortex-induced vibrations. We specialise in immersed boundary-based solver development and machine learning to create efficient, reduced-order models for multi-physics systems.
Complementing our numerical work, we employ experimental techniques – including wind tunnel testing and the single-blow method to validate thermal-fluid performance and optimise transport phenomena. From vascular remodelling in biomechanics to topology optimisation in engineering design, our lab strives to bridge the gap between fundamental flow physics and transformative industrial applications.
