Established in 2003 as "Pan-Pacific English College Debate Championship", NEADC has hosted 21 tournaments for the debating community for North East Asia, through "North East Asia Open (NEAO)".
Kumamoto NEADC 2024 is the fourth time Japan has hosted the North East Asia tournaments, following 2008 by the Nihon University English Speaking Society, 2016 by JPDU and Tokai University, and 2021 by the University of Tokyo Debating Society. Except for 2021 which was held online, 2008 and 2016 was held in Tokyo.
NEADCは「汎太平洋大学英語ディベート選手権」として2003年に始まり「北東アジアオープン」を経て、21回にわたって北東アジアのディベーターのために開催されてきました。
熊本大会は、日本で主催する4回目の大会となります。主催団体はそれぞれ、2008年には日本大学ESS、2016年にはJPDUと東海大学、2021年は東京大学英語ディベート部でした。2021年はオンライン開催でしたが、2008年と2016年は東京で開催されました。
